Momo Chart of the Day: CLNE
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 21st, 2010 at 7:55 am
Clean Energy Fuels $CLNE just won’t stop. This stock was strong in an extremely weak tape and continues to show good momentum. @szaman gives us a nice look at the flag forming above the 1o day moving average.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day: Medifast MED
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 20th, 2010 at 8:05 am
Today on the Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at Medifast $MED with @WeeklyTA. This is a classic example of a topping pattern, get to know it. We saw a high volume sell off which tested the 50 day moving average, bounced on decreasing volume, the stock was not able to recapture the highs, and then experienced another even higher volume sell off which created a lower low.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day: Visa V
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 19th, 2010 at 1:59 pm
Today on the Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at Visa $V with @StevenPlace. Visa is just now breaking out of a tight flag formation it’s been stuck in for the past month. You can see below on the chart that it has broken through the downtrend line which represents resistance. Everything here looks set for a breakout with $V holding the 20 day moving average well.

Howie’s All Time Highs: Turkey ETF TUR
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 19th, 2010 at 10:07 am
I guess no one in Turkey $TUR has heard of Shittybank or Bear Stearns.
This country loves their coffee and hookah’s.

Momo Chart of the Day: Cyberonics CYBX
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 15th, 2010 at 10:06 am
Healthcare is on fire, and Cyberonics $CYBX is setting up again to run. This high momentum stock has seen a nice low volume pull back after a high volume push from 14 to 21. Both the stochastic and MACD indicators look ripe for stepping in to buy this one with a tight stop below the 20 day moving average. @flare9x has an excellent eye.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day: Chipotle CMG
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 14th, 2010 at 3:38 pm
Today on the Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at Chipotle Mexican Grill $CMG with @RaginCajun. A nice base has formed in Chipotle over the six months or so, and we’re now starting to see the momentum pick up. The ascending triangle seen on the chart was broken last week setting up a nice bull flag. Look for the 97$ level to be broken on the upside for a long entry.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day: Amylin Pharmaceuticals AMLN
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 12th, 2010 at 7:55 am
Today on the Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at Amylin Pharmaceuticals $AMLN with @stt2318. Amylin broke out of this multi month basing pattern today as rotation continued back into the healthcare sector. Many of these stocks have yet to really take off and could be the target of traders as tech takes a rest. Longer term traders can enter a long position here with a stop below 13.50.

DE JAVU ALL OVER AGAIN
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 11th, 2010 at 7:55 am
The homebuilders have that shipper/nat gas feel before they went on a short term run. What I mean is this: there was picture going around in financial sites showing ships parked in the middle of an ocean because business was slow. You would think that the obvious would happen: shipping stocks would plummet, but they didn’t. Conversely they stabilized, went higher, and there was a trade to be had on the long side.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day: Transports IYT
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 8th, 2010 at 7:55 am
Today on Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at the transports ETF $IYT with @VPgradient. For all of you down theorists out there, the transports have been lagging to a major extent these past few weeks, failing to make new highs. A large level of resistance is being found at the October 08′ bounce back from the crash. This is an important psychological level as it represents many trapped buyers of that bounce over a year ago.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day: Kodiak Oil & Gas KOG
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 7th, 2010 at 8:13 am
Today on Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at Kodiak Oil and Gas $KOG with @TA_Trader. This little oil and gas play is set up to run, breaking through its descending trend line yesterday on high volume. The MACD especially looks bullish on this momentum play. Take a look at how well the stock sets up on the weekly chart, beautiful.

SPY / DX Correlation
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 7th, 2010 at 7:34 am
Much talk surrounded the correlation between the US Dollar and the major equity indices in 2009. It seemed that the equity market was operating solely based on the falling $DX_F at times.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day Green Mountain Coffee Roasters GMCR
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 6th, 2010 at 7:59 am
Today on the Chart.ly Chart of the Day we are looking at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters $GMCR with@jaykza. The shorts, and there are many of them, are getting their butts handed to them as $GMCR exploded after finding support from the ascending trend line shown below, above the 200 day moving average. It looks though that we are at the top of the range and due for a pullback.

Chart.ly Chart of the Day Natural Gas NG_F
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 5th, 2010 at 8:04 am
Today on Chart.ly Chart of the Day we take a look at natural gas $NG_F with @Sierra33. We’re seeing natural gas start to roll over once again after making its second trip up to test the 200 day moving average. Investors and traders alike are still searching for a bottom, but nothing from this chart says that we’ve seen it. A push above the descending trend line and 200 day moving average would make believers out of many and could spark a major rally. Until that happens, watch continue to be patient, we are seeing some ugly looking stochastics here.

CHINESE GAMING
Chart.ly, Chart.ly | January 5th, 2010 at 7:50 am
This post was written by @zortrades on the Chart.ly Blog
The market started 2010 with a bang and the standouts were the Chinese names. It didn’t take me long to notice a playable pattern. As I was going through my watch list, I noticed $snda up 8.38% that got me thinking of $game, then I saw $ntes up 10.74% and that got me thinking of $cyou, $sohu. Let me show you what I mean.
