Overheard on StockTwits: Kicking the Football

Each day we pour over the StockTwits stream and try to bring you the morning vibe.  Here's what we found today:

Thats a great question.  One could say that Cyclicals, Tech, and Healthcare all are secular trends that may continue.

I was in agreement with @FullCarry (as I tend to be) until @christopherhuff sent me this great chart illustrating the correlation between Initial Jobless Claims and the $SPX.  The numbers ended up coming in a little better than expected, and the futures rallied a bit on that news.

$ATVI has released a real winner with its latest Call of Duty as games are flying off the shelf.  The video game industry, in general, has not really released to many great games lately so there seems to be some pent-up demand.

When the CEO fades his own record launch that doesn't strike me as a good sign.

$WMT disappointed the street today with a less than stellar top-line number.   Perhaps $WMT is facing competition where it never used to have it as many other retailers are forced to discount to offload inventory.

The StockTwits stream was all over the news on the $INTC and $AMD settlement.

Interesting chart by @Contrahour showing that the internals are not behaving as well as the overall market on this recent rally.

A smart guy weighs in on the $AMD and $INTC news.  $AMD is trading well off its highs so maybe the market agrees.

At a very pivotal point in the market, sentiment is a tied between the bulls and bears.  Perfect!

There was a bit of chatter on the stream today about the recent decoupling between the market and the dollar.  Perhaps today we're starting to play catchup.

This is what really took the market down today.   Seemed like those trading the crude futures were already anticipating a high inventory number.
